Zone Size

Each zone covers a square region at the target distance. Zone size and total sensing area both grow linearly with distance.

Where:

• $d$ — distance to the target
• $N$ — zones per axis: $4$ for 4×4 mode, $8$ for 8×8 mode
• $32.5°$ — the half-angle of the 65° field of view ($\frac{65°}{2}$), used because the tangent function measures from the centre line outward
